'TN police' assault 5 youth in Tarikere

Bavikere Halliseve Yuvaka Sanghatane member P S Venkatesh (27), Suresh (30), Girish (29), Udayakumar (34) and driver Raghu (21) were assaulted by a group of around 20-30 people led by a woman, who herself claimed as a Tamilnadu DIG. The vehicle of youths, who were returning from Habbe Falls, was stopped by the miscreants for not allowing the latter to overtake on the road.

According to a complaint filed by the youths, the woman in the group showed an identity card claiming that she was a DIG and later attacked them with bricks. The group chased the youths even when they were trying to flee from the scene. The group also snatched a gold chain, three mobile phones and a cash of Rs 2,000, they stated in the complaint.
Later all the five youths were admitted to Tarikere hospital by the local people. MLA D S Suresh after visiting the injured youths in the hospital, directed superintendent of police to take action against the miscreants. Lingadahalli police have registered a case.
