<p>Udupi: The Hiriyadka police have arrested two individuals in connection with an attempted murder case reported on Thursday late night.</p><p>The suspects, Sandesh (31) and Sushanth (32), both residents of Hiriyadka, were taken into custody, Udupi Superintendent of Police Arun K said. The SP stated that the suspects claimed the murder attempt was in retaliation for the killing of Suhas Shetty in Bajpe.</p><p>According to the SP, around 11:15 pm, the complainant, Abubakkar (50), a resident of Badagabettu in Udupi, received a phone call from an acquaintance, Dinesh, requesting a rental ride from Madaga to Athradi. When he did not comply, they tried to intercept the autorickshaw. However, he continued to drive. The complainant noticed that the pillion rider was holding a sword-like weapon. Fearing for his life, he stopped the autorickshaw near a bus driver's house at Shedigudde and attempted to flee. At that moment, the assailants swung the sword at him, but he managed to avoid the blow. The other attacker damaged the autorickshaw’s front glass with a bottle. Realising that they were trying to kill him, Abubakkar jumped over a compound wall and escaped from the scene.</p><p>A case has been registered at the Hiriyadka Police Station under sections 126(2), 109, 324(3), 352, 351(2), 3(5) BNS.</p>
