Owing to the heavy rains lashing Talacauvery-Bhagamandala, Triveni sangama is inundated. There was three feet water on Napoklu-Ayyangeri road, thus closing the road for the movement of vehicles. Even on Bhagamandala-Madikere road, there was one feet water. In several places, electric poles have been uprooted thus disrupting the supply of power till afternoon. River Cauvery is flowing above the danger level in Dubare. If the rain continues, then water will enter Karadigodu in Siddapura.

From January till date, Madikeri has received 1099.65 mm rainfall. Last year it was 926.65 mm.

In the last 24 hours, district has received 65.18 mm rainfall. Shanthalli has received highest rainfall of 150.2 mm. Bhagamandala has received 144 mm, Talacauvery 115.60 mm, Madikeri 48.20 mm, Napoklu 90.20 mm, Somwarpet 61.80 mm, Shanivarasanthe 62.60 mm, Srimangala 75.20 mm, Ponnampet 58.60 mm, Virajpet 38.60 mm rainfall. The water level in Harangi reservoir has increased to 2837.10 from 2835.18 feet.
