CID officials on Sunday took into custody an assistant director and assistant officer from KR Nagar taluk, Mysuru district, in connection with the case of purported letter by the agriculture officers to the Governor, against minister N Chaluvarayswamy, on Sunday.

Upon investigation, it was found that a letter with forged signatures of the assistant directors of seven taluks of Mandya district and addressed to the governor was posted from Sarawathipuram post office in Mysuru.

Sources said that assistant director of agriculture department Guruprasad and agriculture officer Sudarshan, both from KR Nagar taluk were taken to an undisclosed location for investigation.

The CID sleuths raided the agriculture office in KR Nagar on Sunday morning, took the duo into their custody and seized a few documents in the office.

According to sources, investigation is on to ascertain whether there was any political pressure on the officials to write a ‘fake’ letter against Chaluvarayaswamy.

Mysuru district joint director B S Chandrashekar said that the CID DySP has informed them about officials being taken into custody.

Agriculture Minister N Chaluvarayswamy said, “I have no information about officials of Mysuru district being taken into custody. The CID has not submitted any report to the government. We need to know whether there was any instigation to write the letter”.
