Virajpet Tahsildar Yoganand visited the Makutta checkpost at the Kodagu-Kerala border on Wednesday and inspected the team handling the Covid-19 check-up of the people entering Kodagu.

The tahsildar said that the vehicles which have been issued with the certificates in the prescribed format are allowed to enter Karnataka. Every day, 500 to 600 vehicles including government buses and transportation vehicles come to Karnataka from Kerala through Makutta checkpost.

The police personnel and the staff from revenue, forest and health departments have been working at the checkpost day and night, he said.

Covid-19 check-up is also being done at Kutta checkpost in South Kodagu, he added.
