JDS State president H Vishwanath said on Saturday that he would apologise Public Works Department Minister H D Revanna’s criticism of Sumalatha Ambareesh.
“Way in which Revanna has criticised Sumalatha Ambareesh is improper. I had not expected such comments from Revanna who holds responsible position in the government. As the JDS state president, I apologise people,” he told reporters.
He said that the JDS respected women and the party symbol had a woman’s image. Revanna’s justification of his criticism was left to himself.
Regarding H D Deve Gowda’s family members contesting elections, Vishwanath said that even former chief ministers B S Yeddyurappa and Siddaramaiah were no exceptions to family politics. Family politics was a non issue.
He said that the JDS and the Congress were yet to reach an understanding regarding seat sharing.
