VP to declare Nargund as defecation-free on Sept 26

Vice President Venkaiah Naidu will declare Nargund taluk in the district as a defecation-free taluk during his visit on September 26.

This was announced by district incharge Minister H K Patil at a press conference in the city on Saturday.

“Toilets have been constructed in 100% of the houses in the villages of the taluk. Construction of toilets is going on in full swing in the villages of two other taluks by October 2, so that they become defecation-free,” the minister said.

He launched a veiled attack on former chief ministers B S Yeddyurappa and Jagadish Shettar for their “failure” to solve the drinking water woes in the district.
