<p>Bengaluru: The World Health Organisation (WHO) representative to India has appreciated the Asha Kirana initiative, launched by the Karnataka health department.</p>.<p>In a letter to the state health secretary, the WHO noted that the Asha Kirana model aligns closely with the WHO's Integrated People-Centred Eye Care framework and principles. "This innovative model represents a significant advancement towards the goal of eliminating avoidable blindness,” the letter said.</p>
