Will redress regional imbalance, promises Kumaraswamy

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Thursday said his government was committed to the overall development of North Karnataka region and promised to take appropriate steps to redress the issue of regional imbalance.

Speaking to reporters, he thanked all those who opposed the North Karnataka bandh call given by some organisations on Thursday, demanding separate statehood.

“My government is committed to the overall development of the state. The issue of regional imbalance will be redressed by implementing specific programmes,” he said.

He also appealed to people not to give any scope for misleading on the demand for separate statehood.
