<p>Bengaluru: The Ramanagar police have arrested a woman who claimed to be the wife of former Congress MP DK Suresh to get "clout in the community". </p>.<p>Police have arrested Pavithra Dodlahalli, a native of Kanakapura and a primary school teacher in the area, based on a complaint filed by Pradeepa T, a lawyer. </p>.<p class="bodytext">According to the FIR registered by the CEN police on April 29, Pavithra claimed in her Facebook and Instagram accounts that she was Suresh’s wife. She posted Suresh's photographs, some of which were allegedly edited along with her pictures, and also used the logo of the Congress party in some of the pictures. </p>.Notice to woman for posing as D K Suresh's sister, cheating people.<p class="bodytext">On April 8, she posted a video on her Instagram account and claimed that she was proud of Suresh’s work as an MP and that she was happy to be his wife. On March 22, she posted a screenshot of her elector’s ID on Instagram. In that, under the husband’s name, it was written as DK Suresh, the FIR noted. </p>.<p class="bodytext">The police complaint filed by Pradeepa alleged that Pavithra was "falsely" claiming to be Suresh’s wife and cheating the public. </p>.<p class="bodytext">“We initiated a probe and arrested the suspect. She says she did it to get clout in her community,” a police officer said. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Police registered a case under BNS sections 237 (using as true such declaration knowing it to be false), 319 (cheating by personation), 336 (forgery) and 353 (statements conducing to public mischief) and Section 66D (cheating by personation by using computer resource) of the Information Technology (IT) Act. </p>
