"Tejaswee is too young for politics...he is five years away from contesting polls even if he were to do so," Prasad told reporters here.
"My son is too young for both marriage and politics," Prasad said, adding, it was for Tejaswee to take the final call on his profession in the end.
Tejaswee's presence at a function in the RJD office last week had evoked sharp reaction from the opposition with the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar accusing the RJD chief of seeking to perpetuate family-driven politics.
Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi had also attacked Prasad saying that he had forced a 'reluctant' son to take a plunge into politics to boost his own electoral prospects.
