<p>Mumbai: Former cricketer Kedar Jadhav has embarked on a new journey as he has joined the BJP.</p><p>The 40-year-old former all-rounder joined the saffron party in the presence of state BJP's Maharashtra unit chief and Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, state BJP Working President Ravindra Chavan and former Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha member Ashok Chavan at the BJP office at Nariman Point in Mumbai.</p>.UP: Bulldozer in Ram Navami procession sparks standoff between BJP leaders, police.<p>"I bow down to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the BJP is doing politics of development,” Jadhav said. </p><p>“I think this is very inspirational and my aim is to follow their footsteps and make whatever small contribution I can for the BJP,” he said.</p><p>Jadhav is a former India cricketer who represented the national team in 73 ODIs and nine T20Is, scoring 1,389 runs and 122 runs respectively. He has also taken 27 wickets in ODIs. </p><p>He was part of the 2018 Asia Cup winning team and was also in the 2019 ODI World Cup squad, as well as the 2017 Champions Trophy team. </p><p>Jadhav played for Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), the now-defunct Kochi Tuskers Kerala, Royal Challengers Bangalore (now Royal Challengers Bengaluru), Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL). </p>
