Modi to meet Jaya today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazagam (AIADMK) leader and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha during his one-day visit to the state on Friday.

This would be Modi's first official visit to Jayalalitha's Poes residence after becoming Prime Minister in May last year. In 2008, when he was chief minister of Gujarat, Modi visited Jayalalitha's house where she hosted a lunch for him.

Modi also attended Jayalalitha's swearing in ceremony when AIADMK came to power in 2011.

The prime minister will arrive here to participate in the All Indian Handlooms Day celebrations and present awards to best handloom weavers.
