Mopidevi's judicial remand extended

A special CBI court on Wednesday extended the judicial remand of former Excise minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana till June 7 and granted his request of being treated as a special category prisoner.

Mopidevi, the Infrastructure minister in Y S R’s ministry, was arrested by the CBI on May 24 for allegedly extending undue favours to Vanpic. He was presented before the designated court on the same day and remanded in CBI custody for five days.

Mopidevi’s lawyers filed a bail petition in the CBI court on Wednesday.
The court have posted hearing in the matter on Thursday.
