<p>Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday launched a veiled attack on Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi and party’s star campaigner Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, saying those “born with a silver spoon” will not know the plight of the poor.<br /><br /></p>.<p>“There is a party that has been rejected elsewhere, feels that they may have a chance in the land of its ancestors, but they do not know about the villages. Those born with a silver spoon will not know such things,” Modi said, addressing an election rally at Fatehpur.<br /><br />He came down heavily on the Congress-SP alliance and said both of them were “sinking” and might have thought they would survive if they joined hands.<br /><br />“But people cannot be fooled. They know everything. The SP government spent a huge amount of public money to publicise its works, but people know the truth,” Modi said.<br /><br />He said UP had lagged behind other states during the successive non-BJP regimes in the past 14 years. “This situation must change. UP needs to be brought on par with the other states,” he added.<br /><br />The prime minister also referred to the Supreme Court order directing an FIR be registered against state Minister Gayatri Prajapati in a rape case. He said it was a matter of shame that the apex court had to interfere to get an FIR .<br /></p>
