Rahul might retain Wayanad even if he wins Amethi

"Take care of him Wayanad, he won't let you down."

Priyanka Gandhi's tweet soon after her brother and Congress president Rahul Gandhi filed his nomination at Wayanad has triggered speculation that Rahul might retain Wayanad even if he wins both Wayanad and Amethi.

The Congress activists started an intensive campaign by conveying Rahul's assurance on rebuilding the flood-hit district and prioritising the development needs of the district.

In his appeal to voters, Rahul reiterated that he was overwhelmed by the reception accorded to him and assured that he would return it in manifold.

"One question we often faced from voters was whether Rahul would remain as Wayanad MP even if he wins or will he move to Amethi. But from the message of Priyanka, there is a general feeling among the average voters here that Rahul will retain Wayanad," a Congress worker in Wayanad said.

KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran himself is coordinating the campaign works at Wayanad. The Congress party plans to bring all big leaders including Sonia Gandhi to Wayanad in the coming days, party sources said.
