<p>The railways will soon install CCTV cameras on trains to provide higher security to women passengers. The ministry has conducted successful trials and will soon run a train fitted with such cameras in all of its coaches.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Member (Mechanical) of the Railway Board, Hemant Kumar said, “The railways has decided to provide CCTV cameras on coaches, especially ladies’ coaches.” The trials conducted in two ladies’ coaches – one in Southern Railways and another in Northern Railways – have given positive feedback. He said images are clear enough to suggest that it would be helpful to have such cameras on coaches.<br /><br />He said gradually, the cameras would be installed on more trains. The project will be implemented in coordination with the RPF.<br /><br />Kumar said that in order to facilitate comfortable travel for visually impaired passengers, the railways has taken an initiative of providing Braille signages on coaches.</p>
