Hyderabad: The sleuths of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday questioned BRS working president K T Rama Rao for over seven hours in connection with the Formula E Race case.

ED has already questioned the other two accused in the ACB-registered case, former MA & UD secretary Arvind Kumar and HMDA ex-chief BLN Reddy. Based on their statements, ED has questioned KTR.
.Telangana’s Formula E case is a test of governance, accountability.
KTR reportedly submitted two documents during the questioning, an international consultancy firm Nielsen's report on Formula-E and the Telangana Electric Vehicle Policy - 2020. KTR handed over the independent report prepared by Nielsen following the Formula E race, which stated that the event generated $82 million in economic benefits for the state's economy.

He also shared a copy of the Telangana Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy, announced by the government in October 2020, explaining that it aimed to establish Telangana as the hub of mobility with alternative fuel resources and a grand vision for the mobility sector. Under this policy, the state initiated the Telangana Mobility Valley and conducted the Formula E race as part of a long-term agenda to promote EV manufacturing and attract investments in the sector.

KTR's office said that he had provided detailed answers and assured ED that he would attend any future inquiry and answer all their questions. KTR also said all funds transferred from the government to the Formula E organizers were accounted for with clear records. He emphasised that the funds reached the organisation directly, eliminating any scope for corruption.

Coming out of the ED office, KTR told reporters to save public funds; he was ready for a lie detector test.

"I assured them that I would respond to every call and that I would fully cooperate with the investigation. Reports indicate that this inquiry will incur costs of Rs 10 crore. Why waste all this money on a case where no corruption has occurred? We could use that money to waive farm loans or implement other welfare programmes. Therefore, on the occasion of the Sankranti festival, I am making an offer to Revanth Reddy. Let’s have a live debate in front of a High Court judge or any other judge, with media witnesses present. I am ready for a lie detector test, whether it’s at Revanth Reddy's palace, the ED office, or in front of a judge. Who is the thief? Who is guilty? The entire state will see who is truthful. If Revanth Reddy has courage, he should come for the lie detector test with me,” said KTR.

He claimed that political vendetta led to the government filing an illegal case against him. He said both agencies, ACB and ED, asked similar questions. “I provided the same answers to both agencies. In the vote-for-note case, Revanth Reddy was caught by the ACB, which is why they filed a case against me as well. Since there is an ED case against Revanth Reddy, they are conducting this ED inquiry against me. I have not done anything wrong, and I will not do anything wrong. There has been no corruption involved in this matter. They asked me the same questions for eight hours. I gave them the same answers. If they prove me wrong, I am prepared to face any punishment. The funds were transferred transparently. The ACB asked 80 questions, and the ED asked 40 questions. I answered all of them,” he added. KTR a few days ago also attended questioning by ACB.
