<p>A 36-year-old woman from <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/india/uttar-pradesh">Uttar Pradesh</a>'s Moradabad has filed a complaint with the policing alleging that her husband divorced her by pronouncing '<a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/triple-talaq">triple talaq</a>'.</p><p>According to a <a href="https://indianexpress.com/article/cities/lucknow/sambhal-police-triple-talaq-up-woman-9711483/" rel="nofollow">report</a> by <em>Indian Express</em>, the woman on Thursday said that her husband gave her triple talaq verbally after she praised the police for their role in the November 24 Sambhal violence which led to the death of four people.</p><p>Moradabad Senior Superintendent of Police Satpal Antil said that the woman's complaint has been forwarded to jurisdictional women's police station.</p><p>According to <em>IE</em>, Antil said, "A woman from Kathghar locality has given a complaint letter against her husband and her in-laws. She has mentioned that she was given the triple talaq after she watched the video of the violence in Sambhal and praised the police. She has also raised many other charges."</p><p>According to a <a href="https://www.ndtv.com/india-news/man-gives-wife-triple-talaq-for-praising-cops-action-in-sambhal-7196134#pfrom=home-ndtv_topscroll" rel="nofollow">report</a> by <em>NDTV</em>, Nida, who uses a single name for identity and has filed a complaint against her husband Ejazul, said, "<em>Koi wajah hi toh nahi thi. Bina wajah ke talaq diya hai</em> (There was no reason at all. He divorced me without a reason)."</p><p>She said, "I was watching a video because I had to visit Sambhal for a wedding. I also had some personal work. So, I was checking if it was safe to go there. My husband asked me why I was watching the video. I said what is wrong is wrong. You support police. He started misbehaving with me. He said I will not keep you anymore, no matter what you do and pronounced triple talaq. The husband asked her not to watch the video and when she did not agree, he ended the marriage by saying talaq three times."</p><p>The woman alleged that she was married to a man in Kathghat in 2012, had three children but got divorced in 2021.</p><p>Later she met a man who was working in Gurugram who had physical relations with her in October 2021 on the pretext of marrying her.</p><p>When he backed off from marriage she threatened to approach the police, after which he married her.</p><p>According to the publication's report, Nida in her complaint said, " A few days after the marriage my husband and my in-laws started physically and mentally harassing me over dowry. On October 31, he forced me to leave his house along with my children."</p><p>She claimed that on Thursday she had went her husband's office in Gurugram to resolve their issues and while waiting for him, she was watching a video about the Sambhal violence. </p><p>"When my husband came there and saw me watching the video, he told me not to watch it. I told him that I liked the role of the Sambhal police. He became furious and pronounced triple talaq," Nida alleged.</p>
