<p>Issuing a notice to the Chandigarh Health and Family Welfare Commissioner-cum-Secretary, National Human Rights Commission asked the official to submit a report on the incident within four weeks from the date of its receipt.<br /><br />The Commission took suo motu cognizance of the media report in this connection on July 22, the NHRC said in a statement.<br /><br />"It was alleged that the hospital authorities refused to admit her without reports of certain tests. Even after the delivery, she was not given proper medical care, as a result, the child died immediately after the birth," Commission noted.<br /><br />The incident was alleged to have taken place at a government hospital in Chandigarh on June 21, it said.<br /><br />Media reports claimed that the woman was undergoing treatment at the same hospital as she was admitted there only after her baby died.</p>
