MAHE inks pact with 7 technical universities of Ghana

Manipal Academy of Higher Education signed a memorandum of understanding with seven technical universities of Ghana at the Manipal Edu building here on Monday.

The Ghanaian delegation, comprising senior officials of the universities, is led by Prof Kwado Adinkrah Appiah, Interim VC Sunyani Technical University.

Vice Chancellor, Dr H Vinod Bhat, signed the memoranda on behalf of MAHE. Also present were Pro Vice Chancellors, Dr PLNG Rao and Dr Poornima Baliga; Director, International Affairs and Collaboration, Dr Raghu Radhakrishnan, Director Planning and Monitoring, Dr Aparna I.N. and others.

The Ghanaian universities were represented by Prof Kwado Adinkrah Appiah, Interim VC Sunyani Technical University, Prof Samuel Erasmus Alnaa, Rector Bolgatanga Polytechnic, Prof Edmund Enyonam Kwaku Ameko, Ag. Interim VC Accra Technical University, Dr Nicholas Apreh Siaw, Ag. Pro VC Koforidua Technical University, Prof Sarah Darkwa, IMC Chairman Cape Coast Polytechnic, Dr George Asumadu, Dean of Business School, Kumasi Tech University, Rev. Prof John Frank Eshun, Interim VC Takoradi Technical University.

The collaborations are an outcome of the recent visit and deliberations Ghana’s Foreign Minister Shirley Botchwey had with officials of Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi. Having acquired the “Institute of Eminence” tag in July 2018, MAHE was the first choice of the seven Ghanaian universities. The delegation is led by ICARE, a renowned University Rankings & Ratings agency.

The agreement between MAHE and the universities is to jointly undertake student and faculty exchange, organize study tours, conduct summer school programmes and more importantly undertake joint research in areas relevant to both Ghana and India. While individual universities made their presentations, Dr Raghu made a presentation of MAHE.
