Man held for impersonation

The JMFC Court in Sullia witnessed an unusual scene when a youth attempted to mislead a judge by impersonating his elder brother during a hearing in an assault case.

The judge on suspicion ordered the police to arrest Sharif and remanded him to judicial custody.

The arrested youth was identified as Sharif. He is the brother of Siddique. According to police, Siddique and two others were involved in an assault case that took place near Shanthinagara in Savanoor in Bellare Police Station limits on June 11, 2017. Siddique who received summons from court to appear for the hearing decided to send his brother Sharif.

The judge grew suspicious when he found that the signature of Sharif did not match with that of Siddique. When the judge demanded a valid proof, it dawned to everyone present in court that he was Sharif, impersonating Siddique. The judge immediately ordered police to arrest Sharif and book him for impersonation and misleading the court.
