For their love of cricket

Last Updated 30 January 2012, 13:43 IST

It was the last of the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) matches scheduled in the City and most of the big names in the film industry descended on the pitch.

They mixed around with the ordinary people and did their bit of socialising with the fellow stars from the other industries as well.

Bobby Deol
“It’s a great way to get together and break the ice with actors from the other language industries. And what better to way to do it than cricket.”

Sohail Khan
“The idea of CCL was to bring the popular sport cricket and films together. People have accepted it and we have been received well as a team. It’s tough but we have taken it as a challenge.”

Raima Sen
“CCL is a fun thing and not to be taken seriously at all. I get to travel to so many places with the team and taste different cuisines. I am enjoying every bit of cheering for my team— Bengal Tigers.”

Srikanth
“It’s great to see the love and respect actors get wherever they go. It’s never been more thrilling than getting out there and playing a popular sport. I love it.”

Raghavendra Rajkumar
“I think those who get out on the field have a lot of guts. I have a phobia of the ball hitting me and I am no good cricketer. But it is great to be out here.”

Puneeth Rajkumar
“I can’t play cricket. I am not cut out for the game. But I hopped in to cheer the team. I love watching the sport.”

Murali
“I am not playing this year. I had come for the initial practice sessions but I wasn’t fit enough so I thought I would play next season when I am better prepared.”
