After working in the food industry for over two decades, Basavaraj Moogi decided to collaborate with his school friends Govind Rao Telkar, Shivayogi Turmari and Sanjeev Kalsoor to open a restaurant of their own.

This gave birth to the multi-cuisine restaurant, ‘Swasthaa’ in December 2018. South Indian, North Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Mexican and Continental dishes are the highlights of the menu.

The three-floor dining space is cosy and warm. Choose a place of your preference and get ready to relish some delectable dishes.

Start your meal with the chef’s special ‘Shangai Potato’. The sweet and spicy combination was ‘love at first bite’. We liked that it wasn’t greasy. In fact, most of the items available here are usually baked and not deep-fried.

Next, the chef recommended ‘Chicken Banjara’, which is a tandoori specialty. We were quite happy with the choice.

The chicken was soft and the spices were evenly spread; the tangy twist in every bite makes it a must-have. We couldn’t help but go for another serving.

If you are a seafood fan, ‘Ebi (prawns) Tempura’ is the way to go. The prawns were fresh and soft. Don’t feel shy to lick the place clean!

Though the aim is to serve healthy food, the restaurant doesn’t compromise on the taste and quantity.

The wide variety of options, for non-vegetarians and vegetarians, is sure to spoil you for choice.

While you enjoy your starters, ask for ‘Nargis Juice’. The unusual combination of beetroot and orange in itself is unheard of. We understand that you might be sceptical to trying this, but one sip of it will change your mind.

For mains, try the ‘Spanish Roasted Chicken with exotic vegetables and mashed potato’. This is our personal favourite.

If you are looking for something wholesome, this dish will do the job. The chicken was succulent and juicy and the mashed potatoes did the trick.

The fragrant rice and the creamy mushroom sauce completed the meal.

You can also try their biryanis which are among the most popular items on the menu.

For dessert, we tried the caramel custard and chocolate brownie. The custard was good but the texture wasn’t as smooth as we expected it to be. However, the brownie won brownie

points (pun intended). It was soft and generously chocolaty.

‘Swasthaa’ also specialises in bread. They plan to launch it at markets soon.

The restaurant has a seating capacity of about 200 pax and a separate dining room for two, in case, you want to enjoy a quiet dinner with your loved one.

‘Swasthaa fine-dine’ is located at 3 and 4, 2nd Cross, Bhoopasandra Main Road (near Hebbal Flyover). For reservations, call 7406494111.
