Kannada author and art critic Y K Sandhya Sharma is the recipient of this year’s ‘Sadhana Rajya Prashasti’ for literature. The award is presented by Sadhana National Cultural Foundation, Mangaluru, to people for making remarkable achievements in their respective fields.
With a master’s degree in Kannada, Sandhya has worked as an assistant editor at many regional newspapers.
She is currently working at the Department of Information and Public Relations, Karnataka.
A writer for 48 years, she has written about 250 short stories and many poems, plays etc. As an art critic, she has over 500 published drama and dance reviews.
With a keen interest in theatre, Sudha also founded and heads the theatre group ‘Sandhya Kalavidharu’. Over the years, the writer has been the recipient of many awards including ‘Kempegowda Award’ and ‘Goruru Award’ for her contribution to literature.
Sandhya will be presented the ‘Sadhana Rajya Prashasti’ on March 2 at Town Hall Mangaluru.
