Lebanese fare at Banashankari

If you are near the BDA Complex in Banashankari second stage and want to try some new cuisine, head to the road behind Pizza Hut and find Foodizo Cafe.

An array of vegetarian Lebanese food based on the falafel, is unique to this place. Along with that come a series of popular sizzlers, waffles and protein shakes.

This compact cafe was started by an ophthalmologist and his younger brother two months ago. A variety of refreshments -- seven types of lassies, 40 types of mocktails, a number of faloodas, ice creams and kulfis, cold coffees and smoothies -- will make you addicted to this cafe.

A rare drink, the Dry Fruit Shake, is a top choice among visitors. This thick shake is rich with proteins. The cold coffees are similar to the ones available at many other cafes but come with a rich flavour.

Sizzlers are a regular choice among many customers. Though waffles are available at the restaurant right next to Foodizo Cafe, the cafe’s waffles are considered authentic and mouthwatering by most reviewers. They do not make it very crispy like most places but prepare it slightly soggy. This way, it is easy to eat along with exciting combinations like ice cream. The Red Velvet waffle is a treat to have.

A unique feature here are the falafel based dishes. The falafel balls here are made with dal and are deep fried. Items like Falafel burgers and the Falafel Mezze Platter are prepared from scratch here. The platter involves hummus, vegetables, dressing like mayonnaise, falafel balls and pita bread.

You should stuff all the ingredients into the pita bread and enjoy a big bite of the mixed flavours. This can get messy but is a unique eating experience that one must try to understand the Middle Eastern food systems.

The owner of this cafe keeps experimenting and is continually bringing out new dishes to his menu. Around 30 new items were added to the menu a couple of weeks ago.

Though there are numerous unique items to experience here, there is limited seating space. It is located in a place that is hard to notice by the common commuter. Situated in a residential road with a couple of eateries on one side of this cafe, a possibility of a parking difficulty could also arise.
