Udupi-based artist Gurudas Shenoy, now settled in Bengaluru, unveiled his new painting series ‘Impalpable Expressions’ on May 17 at Galerie De Arts, MG Road.

A graduate from M S University of Baroda, Gurudas’ career as an artist spans for over two decades.

Talking to Metrolife, he shares insights about his latest collection, “When artists keep on working, their approach to techniques, thinking etc. changes over time. The series is something that captures an interesting phase in the life of an artist; painting every piece is like a journey for me.”

A member of the South Kanara Art Council (SKAC0) and the Bombay Art Society, Gurudas was also the curator of ‘Husain Sankalana’, M F Husain’s museum in the city, between 1991 and 2008. He also received the Bendre-Husain National Award by the Bombay Art Society.

Gurudas also set up the ‘Shenoy Art Foundation’ to help upcoming artists.

The artist will be showcasing his other works in a few group exhibitions in Delhi and is also working on another project in Bengaluru.

*’Impalpable Expressions’ is on view till June 8.
