Sufi tunes

The Bangalore International Centre has arranged an evening of Sufi music, Creativity in the Arts by Abdul Rauf and troupe on April 16, 7 pm at the auditorium, Bangalore International Centre, TERI Complex, 4th Main, 2nd Cross, Domlur II Stage.

Celebration time
Kiraanaa Music Academy is celebrating its first anniversary on April 17. As part of the celebrations, the Academy has organised Hindustani classical concerts by noted artistes like Madhava Gudi and Sanjeev Jahagirdar. The programme will begin with a classical music presentation by students from 2.30 pm onwards. The other events include classical vocal recital by Radha Bhat (London), classical dance by Kamala and Manisha, classical vocals by Prasanna Gudi and Sanjiv Jahagirdar. Concluding concert is by Madhava Gudi. The venue is Udaya Bhaanu Kalaa Sangha, Gavipuram.

Vocal duet
Indiranagar Sangeetha Sabha, Purandara Bhavana, 8th Main Road, Hal Second Stage is holding the vocal duet performance of N R Harini and N R Sharada on April 24, 6 pm. For details, call 25215525.

‘Raag Sangeet’
Sursagar is presenting Hindustani Raag Sangeet by Aditi Kaikini Upadhya on April 17, 6.30 pm at the Canara Union, 8th Main, Malleswaram. Aditi will be accompanied by Ravindra Yavagal (tabla), Ravindra Katoti (harmonium). Entry is free.

K.A.R.T live
Local band K.A.R.T will perform live at the Hard Rock Café on April 15 at 8.45 pm. K.A.R.T believes in playing music that is simple and easy to understand.
The band comprises Sherin Jacob (vocals/percussion), Bryan Richard (bass/vocals), Jason Zachariah (keys/vocals), Wilfred Demoz (drums) and Naveen Thomas Joseph (guitars).

‘Ramanavami’
Sree Ramaseva Mandali is organising the Sree Ramanavami National Music Festival till April 30 at the Special Pandal, Government Junior College, Fort High School Grounds.
On April 15, Venugopal B will present a flute recital at 5.15 pm and H K Venkatram will play the violin.
The artistes performing on April 16 include Raksha S N and Gayathri E. On April 17, Nagarathna A V will perform at 5.15 pm. This will be followed by a violin duet by Mysore Nagaraj and Mysore Manjunath.
Founders’ Day will be held on April 18 and on the same day, Malladi Brothers will perform. For details, call 26604031.
