AAP leader hits out at 'palace politics'

The unease within the AAP is on the verge of another outburst, with senior leader Kumar Vishwas hitting out at “palace politics”, and his detractors dubbing him a “friend of the BJP”.

Vishwas has been at the centre of a clash in the party over the past two months, following the AAP’s debacle in the Delhi civic and Assembly elections.

Vishwas, who was recently appointed AAP’s Rajasthan in-charge, said he would ensure workers under him adhered to the party’s core principles and went back to the basics.

His comments came as posters appeared at the Delhi party office, describing him as a “friend of the BJP” and “traitor”, who should be “thrown out” of the party.

“Vishwas is not a poet, but a traitor. He attacks while in hiding and backstabs. Remove such a traitor”, read one poster.

Vishwas, for his part, told reporters, “We (AAP) did not come into being for these conspiracies and palace politics hatched by five-six people. We are for the causes, based on which the party was born at Ramlila Maidan. The party will fight the Rajasthan polls on its real principles.”
