Akhilesh to counter Yogi in Gujarat

Last Updated 30 November 2017, 14:53 IST

The SP leaders said that Akhilesh would be addressing several rallies in Gujarat, where he would be "exposing" the claims made by Adityanath about his development initiatives in Uttar Pradesh (UP).

"He (Akhilesh) will expose Adityanath, who has been taking credit for the schemes launched by the SP regime...the people of Gujarat need to be told about the lies being spread by the chief minister," SP spokesman Rajendra Chaudhary said.

Akhilesh would also seek to corner the saffron party over its alleged failure on the law and order front in UP, besides raising issues concerning farmers and unemployment.

The SP has fielded its candidates on five seats. Barring those seats, Akhilesh would seek votes for the Congress on all other seats, Chaudhary said.

Akhilesh will begin his four-day campaign from Jamnagar on December 4.

Adityanath has been campaigning in Gujarat for the past few days. In his rallies, the UP chief minister has been seeking to drive home the message that the BJP government there has delivered on its promises and initiated measures for the all-round development of the state.

Adityanath has also been mentioning the sops his government had announced for Ayodhya. Slogans of 'Jai Sri Ram' was heard in his rallies.
