Canterubury Archbishops' wife visits birth place in Kerala

"It is marvellous to be back here", Jane,who was born here when her father Rev Jeoffrey Paul was a teacher at the Seminary, said.

" Though the campus has changed with new buildings coming up over the years, I still could recall the scene where I grew up till an eight year old", Dr Jane said.

" I particularly remember a tree on the campus under which I used to play. It was full of caterpillars," she said.

Jane, however, said she had only a vague recollection of what the capital city of Kerala was like those days. "Obviously, a lot of changes have ouccurred, which are inevitable", she said during a chat with reporters.

The Willaims and their son Pip also had a look at the cottage on the campus where her parents lived.

Later, the seminary chapel was dedidcated in the name of hewr father Rev Jeoffrey Paul and a couple of siblings were planted to mark the visit of the couple's visit to the campus.

A missionary-priest, Rev Jeofrey Paul served in Palayamkottai and Thiruvananthapuram. He headed the Department of the New Testament in the Seminary and later became its principal before returning to England in 1965.
