Petrol bomb hurled at car outside TTV’s residence

Disgruntled at being removed from his post, a junior-level leader of the Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) hurled a petrol bomb on his own car outside the residence of party deputy general secretary T T V Dhinakaran here.

Bullet Parimalam, who was removed from the post of town secretary of the AMMK recently by Dhinakaran, parked his outside the residence of Dhinakaran in up-scale Adyar here on Sunday afternoon.

Police sources said Parimalam and his supporters hurled bombs towards his car in which four persons, including those working at Dhinakaran’s house, were injured. Police, who have launched an investigation into the case, said Parimalam was suspected to be carrying a sharp weapon in his suitcase.

The faction led by V K Sasikala, who is currently in jail, functions under the name of AMMK.
