Chhattisgarh sleaze CD handiwork of bickering BJP: Cong

The sleaze CD on the Chhattisgarh minister was a result of infighting among the top leadership of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and state Congress chief Bhupesh Baghel was needlessly dragged into the row, claimed All India Congress Committee in-charge of Chhattisgarh P L Punia.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Punia said after being in power for long in the state, the BJP is now a divided house. The sleaze CD on the minister was a result of it. The CD was prepared by BJP leaders and Baghel framed in it.

Baghel had only waved the CD at a press conference saying he too had the same CD. No investigation was ordered, nor was the CD seized. Hence, there is no justification in accusing Baghel of circulating the CD, Punia said.

The Congress, meanwhile, has decided to apply for bail for Baghel with an eye on upcoming elections in the state.
