The Congress on Monday constituted a jumbo executive committee for Kerala with former chief minister K Karunakaran's children K Muraleedharan and Padmaja Venugopal finding a place in the 105-member panel.
The committee includes senior leaders A K Antony, Vayalar Ravi, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and PCC chief Ramesh Chennithala.
It also includes party MP Peethambara Kurup, who was in a controversy recently over molestation charges brought against him by actress Shweta Menon, later withdrawn by her.
The committee announced by Congress chief Sonia Gandhi is an exercise aimed at accommodating all the factions of the party.
Gandhi had identified factionalism as one of the reasons for the Congress’ rout in the assembly elections in four states.
