Delhi government issues notice to armed forces schools

The Delhi government issued show cause notice to three armed forces schools in the capital for not specifying the nursery admission criteria for admitting civilian students, Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely said Tuesday.

"The show cause notice was sent to the schools Monday and they have been given a week's time to respond," Lovely told reporters.

The three public school which got the notice are Army Public School and Air Force School in Delhi Cantonment and Naval Public School located at Chanakyapuri.

"It was found that these schools which were under the special status were not specifying anything regarding the intake of civilian students. That is why we have sent a notice to them," the minister said.

Lovely said they would take necessary action, if required.

As per guidelines issued by the Directorate of Education of Delhi, the nursery admission forms will be available till Jan 16, and the entire process of admission will have to be completed by March 31. 

The schools will have to publish the first list of selected candidates by Feb 1 and second list by Feb 28.
