Tollywood actress and TMC MP Nusrat Jahan and Bengal BJP have never ceased to fire shots at each other. This time, the saffron party has gained an upper hand, thanks to Nusrat Jahan's anger.

West Bengal Assembly elections began on March 27, and it can be said safely that the state has not witnessed an election battle this intense in the past few years. Rallies are being conducted with great pomp and fanfare, and even the celebrity leaders are leaving no stone unturned to mobilise the voters.

One of the most popular faces from the film fraternity in Bengal, Nusrat is a star campaigner for the TMC in this election. That is why the BJP did not let go of the chance to mock her over a video where she can be seen getting angry after her vehicle got stuck during a rally because of the crowd.

She can be heard saying, "I have been campaigning for more than an hour. I don't do this even for the Chief Minister."

Bengal BJP posted the video on its Twitter handle with the caption #MamataLosingNandigram and a laughing emoji.

In the video, a man can be heard requesting her to wait as the main road was nearby. He is saying, "The main road is right here. It's just half a kilometre from here," but a visibly irritated Nusrat got down from the vehicle.

Nusrat Jahan began her political career by contesting from the Basirhat Lok Sabha Constituency in the 2019 general elections and she won against BJP candidate Sayantan Basu.

West Bengal witnessed the first phase of polling on Saturday with over 84 per cent voter turnout. Polling for the remaining seven phases for the 294-member West Bengal Assembly will be held between April 1 to 29 and results will be announced on May 2.
