In one Chhattisgarh polling booth, the election process will be held but with no electors.

Once a village of 356 residents, Kete, which falls under the Udaipur block of Sarguja district, is now deserted.

The village was acquired by the Rajasthan Electricity Corporation to mine coal. As the mining process began, the residents migrated to nearby 9 villages as part of a rehabilitation policy.

The election commission records list a polling booth in the village due to which a polling team would be constituted as it has been certified by the district authorities.

“During rationalisation, the proposal for deleting the polling booth should have been moved, then such a situation wouldn't have arisen. But, all the electors from the village have been identified and their names have been included in the new polling centres in the respective 9 villages,” Saransh Mittal, district electoral officer and returning officer said.
