MNS asks Pakistan artistes to leave India

Amid mounting tension between India and Pakistan in the wake of the Uri attack, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) on Friday asked all artistes of the neighbouring country to leave within the next 48 hours.

Besides, the Raj Thackeray-led MNS also threatened to stall the release of films in which Pakistanis have acted.  “We have given a 48-hour deadline to Pakistani actors and artistes to leave India or the MNS will push them out in its style,” MNS Chitrapat Sena president Amey Khopkar said.

“We ask Pakistanis working in Indian TV serials, films and other reality shows to leave the country within 48 hours. This includes singers and sportspersons. If they fail to do so, we will deal with them,” Khopkar warned.

“Wherever they are shooting, we will chase them out,” MNS vice president and spokesperson Vageesh Saraswat said. “We won’t allow filmmakers to make movies with Pakistani artistes,” MNS vice president Shalini Thackeray said.  The party also expressed displeasure over Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, in which Pakistani actor Fawad Khan is among the cast, which includes Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma. The movie is slated for release on October 28.
