Modi to address two BJP election rallies in Telangana

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address two public meetings in poll-bound Telangana on Tuesday.

He will also address a public meeting in Hyderabad on December 3.

According to a BJP Telangana unit statement, the prime minister will address a rally at Nizamabad at 11 am and Mahbubnagar at 1 pm on Tuesday.

The BJP has considerable support in these two segments including some pockets in Hyderabad city.

The prime minister's meetings are taking place in a changed political atmosphere in the Telugu states with NDA partner Chandrababu Naidu joining the Congress camp under "Praja Kutami" in Telangana and the TRS denies any understanding with the BJP.

The BJP is opposing the friendly ties of TRS with the AIMIM.

However, BJP president Amit Shah during his recent tours to Telangana has been targeting K Chandrasekhar Rao.

Opposition parties in Telangana believe that Modi's comment in Lok Sabha during the debate on no confidence motion that KCR "showed maturity in getting things done", while Chandrababu Naidu did not is an indication of an understanding.

The subsequent developments such as KCR meeting Modi twice in one month's gap before dissolving the Assembly on September 6, made the Opposition parties believe that KCR went in Modi's good books.

This is the second time the prime minister is visiting Telangana since its formation.

In August 2016, he inaugurated KCR's Mission Bhageeratha scheme that aims to provide drinking water to every household.

BJP had five MLAs in the recently dissolved Telangana Assembly.

Party state president K Lakshman is confident that the BJP would emerge as the king maker in the state.
