Naidu accuses YSR family of robbing state

Last Updated 29 May 2012, 18:51 IST

Taking on YSR Congress chief Jaganmohan Reddy, Telegu Desam Party (TDP) supremo N Chandrababau Naidu on Tuesday accused the YSR family of robbing the state and warned the YSRC to face the consequences in the upcoming bypolls.

“Never in the post-independent India that a scam of this scale has occurred. YSR and his family members robbed the state including the wealth under the soil,” the former Andhra Pradesh chief alleged while expressing displeasure over media’s reluctance to highlight Jagan.

“The voters of this country know exactly who Jaganmohan Reddy is, there is no sympathy wave working for him and the YSRC will fare miserably in the bypolls, “said Naidu.

Meanwhile, he said he would urge Anna Hazare to take up fight against Jagan in order to get the state rid of corruption. “I know he (Anna) is apolitical, but the issue here in AP is about the public exchequer, and the TDP would like to work hand in hand with Anna,” Naidu said. Reacting to a question on the High Court scrapping the GO on 4.5 per cent quota to minorities, Naidu said that the former chief minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy tried to influence minorities by carving a quota in BC quota, which will not stand in a court of law. “If the Congress government is sincere they should bring a constitutional amendment creating a separate quota for minorities without creating a dent in the BC quota,” Naidu added.
