AAP candidates for Gujarat being decided by BJP: Congress

Congress' media department head Pawan Khera said Rajguru became disillusioned with AAP and rejoined the Congress within months of leaving it

A day after quitting AAP to return to Congress, former Gujarat MLA Indranil Rajguru on Saturday claimed that the Arvind Kejriwal-led party was working at the behest of the BJP and even its candidates were being decided at 'Kamalam', the saffron party's office in the state.

Addressing a press conference at the Congress headquarters here, Rajguru said he returned to the Congress because he understood the AAP was fooling people.

"I also saw a lot of money coming and asked where it was from. Both Chief Ministers Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann had come to Rajkot (On October 1) and I asked them where the money came from. They gestured that it came via air. They are fooling people," he said.

He claimed that Kejriwal and Mann brought bags of cash with them on a chartered flight to Rajkot. However, Rajguru did not provide further details or substantiated his claims with further evidence.

"I took a stand against this because I had joined AAP to defeat the BJP, not the Congress. I was told, 'don't be stubborn, the list comes from 'Kamalam'," he alleged.

He said the AAP was now alleging that he wanted to become the chief ministerial face and had demanded 15 seats. "Those were not for me. I demanded seats for stronger AAP candidates who can defeat the BJP," he said.

He also alleged that the chief ministerial face was pre-decided and that the survey was an eyewash.

Congress media department chief Pawan Khera said Rajguru was disillusioned with the AAP and rejoined Congress. "When we call them (AAP) the B-team of the BJP, why do they get upset? These are serious charges and need to be answered by AAP and their masters, the BJP," Khera said.
