National Testing Agency notifies dates for JEE, NEET

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will open registration of candidates for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), Main-2019 from September 1.

The registration of candidates for undergraduate National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) 2019 will begin from October 1.

For both the JEE-Main and the NEET, the candidates will get one-month time to fill up their application forms online and submit the examination fee prescribed.

The registration of the candidates for JEE-main and NEET will close on September 30 and October 31 respectively.

The NTA will conducted both the JEE-Main and NEET in multiple sittings twice a year in online mode only.

The first JEE-Main will be held from January 6 to January 20 in 2019, allowing the candidates to choose any of the dates to take the test.

The NTA will conduct the second JEE-Main from April 7 to April 21 in 2019. Process for registration of candidates for this test will start from the second week of February in 2019.

“Candidates can appear for the JEE Main as per their convenience, either in the month of January or April 2019 or in both of these months. The better rank in any of these months will be considered for admission purposes,” The NTA said in a notification.

The NTA will hold first NEET from February 3 to February 17 in 2019.

The second NEET will be held by the testing agency from May 15 to May 26 in 2019. Online registration for this second test will start from the second week of march 2019.

While the results of the first JEE-main to be held in multiple sittings in January, 2019 will be declared later in the first week of February, the results of the second JEE-Main, to be held in multiple sittings in April, will be declared in the first week of May.

The NTA will declare the results of the first NEET in the first week of March 2019 while the results of the second NEET will be announced by the testing agency in first week of June in 2019.

In case of NEET also, the candidates' best of the two scores will be used for the purpose of admission, according to the NTA.
