Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Haldia in West Bengal on Sunday to address a BJP rally ahead of elections in the state. This is the Prime Minister's first rally in West Bengal.

"In Bengal, if you ask didi (Mamata Banerjee) about your right then she gets frustrated. She even gets annoyed if slogans of 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' are raised," PM Modi said at the rally.

PM Modi was earlier in poll-bound Assam where he addressed a gathering of mostly tea workers. He had claimed an international conspiracy has been hatched to "defame" Indian tea.

At least 100 labourers working at the Tapovan power project are feared dead or missing even as 10 bodies have been recovered, ITBP Director General SS Prasad told ANI after a glacier burst in Uttarakhand on Sunday triggering flash flood disaster.

He added that the ITBP team deployed at the site is undertaking rescue operations.

A farmer from Jind in Haryana who was supporting the agitation against the Centre's farm laws allegedly hanged himself from a tree merely two kilometres from the Tikri border protest site on Sunday, police said.

The 52-year-old farmer left a suicide note, which is being verified, they said.

Over a fortnight ago, another farmer from Haryana had allegedly consumed a poisonous substance at the Tikri border. He died during treatment at a Delhi hospital later.
