An online interface between existing students and prospective students, the programme has now been emulated by other IIMs across the country. Each call getter is assigned a mentor who will guide him or her through the whole process providing continuous support from the date of announcement of results till the day final offers are made.
According to an IIM-K spokesman, more number of student mentors have been made available for assistance this year considering the resounding success of the programme last year. The mentors conduct interviews through video conferencing and phone apart from answering queries on the regular forums on the web site http://mentor.iimklive.com/.
The forums would be continuously monitored by the current batch of students and used both as a sounding board for call getters as well as a gateway for important queries to the administration. The spokesman said candidates could reach their mentors 24X7 on their personal numbers or via live messaging.
The mentorship would also continue after this level when students have received offers of admission to the management institute. Candidates are required to register with their CAT TR numbers and email ids provided at the time of registration on the IIMKLive web site to maintain authenticity.
