PM to launch developmental projects in Shirdi

Coinciding with Dusshera-Vijaya Dashami festivities, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch several developmental projects on the temple town of Shirdi on Friday.

The visit of the Prime Minister comes a day after the conclusion of the year-long festivities to mark the 100 years of samadhi of Sri Sai Baba.

Sai Baba passed away in Shirdi village of Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra at 2.35 pm on the day of Dusshera in 1918.

The centenary of the samadhi of the revered saint was held between October 1, 2017, to October 19, 2018.

President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the festivities on the 1st of October last year.

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated the global Sai temple conference on 23rd December.

Modi's visit is part of the concluding event of the year-long festivities.

Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust-Shirdi Chairman Dr Suresh Haware said that a centenary commemorative silver coin will be inaugurated by Modi.

He will also distribute houses of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

The Prime Minister will also perform ground-breaking of various projects like Shri Sai Darshan Building, an educational complex, planetarium and wax museum besides a 10-megawatt solar power project. A Sai garden, a theme park, Sai Knowledge park, laser show, light and sound show will also come up.
