Pained over his constant onslaught unleashed against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah, the saffron party has now asked its rebel MP Shatrughan Sinha to quit.

“If you do not like the party and its leaders, just leave,” was the terse message from senior BJP leader and Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Sushil Kumar Modi, while participating in a news channel programme.

“You have fallen in the bad company of Yashwant Sinha and, therefore, lashing out at our national leaders including the PM. You have been constantly targeting the party which made you Rajya Sabha member twice and then Lok Sabha member twice, besides Cabinet Minister in the Vajpayee government. If you are not happy, stop cribbing and just quit,” Sushil told Shatrughan, who, incidentally, too participated in the programme separately.

The BJP MP from Patna Sahib has, of late, lashed out at Narendra Modi on numerous occasions through his interviews and tweets.

In one such tweet, Shatru told PM, “Sir, no more vendetta politics that we have been seeing with P Chidambaram, Shashi Tharoor, Rahul Gandhi, Robert Vadra & especially in the case of the man of the masses Lalu Prasad@laluprasadrjd. He is gaining tremendous sympathy & has the ability and capability to bounce.”

Sushil, however, dared Shatrughan to contest from Patna Sahib if he was so sure about his popularity. Shatru, however, gave a damn to such open challenge. “I am not the one who would be cowed down by such small fry leaders. I have said earlier also that my location (constituency) will be the same even if there is a change in the situation,” Shatru told DH.

The rebel BJP MP has been cosying up to Lalu Prasad as well as Rahul Gandhi. He, however, did not disclose whether he will be contesting as the Congress nominee or RJD candidate from his constituency. “Waqt aane de meharbaan, hum abhi se kya batayeein kya hamare dil mein hai,” Shatru signed off in his inimitable style.
