As the countdown for ticket distribution begins in Rajasthan ahead of the Assembly elections, BJP leaders are trying to woo voters by having lunch and dinner with people from different castes.

State election in-charge and Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Sunday visited a few houses in the slums of Jhalana, and had lunch with one of the beneficiaries of a scheme. Earlier in the day, Javdekar had tea at a SC man's house.

The gesture was part of the Booth Maha Sampark Abhiyan launched by him on Friday from the revered Govind Devji Temple in Jaipur.

Earlier, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje also visited a person of her constituency, Jhalrapatan. According to the press note sent by the Chief Minister's Office, Santosh Rathore, a beneficiary of Ujjawala scheme, had invited the chief minister to have tea with her at her home in Jhalrapatan.

"Out of the four crore voters, two crores have benefited from various schemes of the BJP government in Rajasthan. We wanted to inform the voters of this," BJP Spokesperson Satish Poonia said

Earlier in the day, Javadekar, accompanied by state party leaders, visited Govind Devjo temple and performed puja. Following his lead, BJP leaders in the state visited temples before knocking on the doors of prospective voters, seeking their votes.
