Congress workers in Kadapa observed a bundh on Friday and brought normal life to a standstill. Bundh was observed in all the four Rayalaseema districts. In other parts of the state, meetings were held to condemn the news report.

On Friday the police booked a case against TV 5, which aired the story based on a report on a Russian website. Cases under Sections 153/3A (provocation with intent to cause riot) and 502 A (sale of printed or engraved substance containing defamatory matter) were registered at Jubilee Hills police station here. Police said notices will be also issued to other channels that picked up the story from TV 5 and began airing it from Thursday night.
The police have booked 96 cases and arrested 185 people for the attacks on Reliance stores belonging to the Ambani brothers.

Prohibitory orders against assembly of people have been imposed on the state in view of the shutdown called by loyalists of the late chief minister in some districts. Most Reliance outlets and establishments were closed on Friday across the state on advice by the state police.
