Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 25 lakhs each to families of the two jawans from the state who were killed in a Naxal attack in Dantewada.

The chief minister expressed grief over the death of police personnel in the Naxal attack yesterday and said the state government is with them in this hour of crisis, a government spokesman said here.

An ex-gratia of Rs 25 lakh has been given to families of Arjun Rajbhar of Ghazipur and Ravinath Singh Patel of Varanasi, the spokesman said.

Besides, the chief minister has promised to provide the government job to one family member each of both families, the spokesman added.

Seven police personnel including Rahbhar and Patel were killed when Naxals carried out a landmine blast yesterday when a joint team of the Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) and the District Force (DF) was patrolling the Cholnar-Kirandul road to provide security to trucks carrying construction material for road works between Kirandul and Palnar villages.
