BJP National General Secretary CT Ravi, who is in charge of the poll-bound Tamil Nadu, said the saffron party will “reach the double-digit” and that the AIADMK-led alliance will return to power.

The BJP is fielding its candidates in 20 seats as part of its alliance with the AIADMK.

Tamil Nadu goes to polls on April 6.

“This election will be futuristic for the BJP keeping in mind the party’s growth,” Ravi told reporters. “The AIADMK-led combination is better than the DMK-led combination. We’re telling people to choose between democratic values of the AIADMK-headed NDA or corruption, goonda politics, land grabbing mafia of the DMK-led alliance. People are saying ‘venda’ (no) to the DMK-led alliance,” Ravi said.

While the BJP will focus on the victory of all candidates of the alliance, Ravi said the saffron party was specially focussing on the 20 seats where it has fielded people on its symbol. “The feedback from citizens is that we've fielded good candidates. So, certainly, this will benefit us,” he said. “Our aim is to reach the double digits and we will.”

‘AIADMK unhappy’

AICC in-charge of Tamil Nadu Dinesh Gundu Rao said even the AIADMK was not keen on allying with the BJP. “Still, forcibly they have entered an understanding,” he said. “Those who speak against (BJP) are subjected to raids. They have control on the media as well. They’re using such crooked methods to come to power,” Rao said.
